Great post on http://gunowners.wordpress.com by Tony Olivia on Obama showing his true gun-grabber colors even sooner than I expected.

Gun Owners of America

That didn’t take too long.  Within hours of securing his second term as President, Obama moved forward to support renewing the debate over the UN Arms Trade Treaty.  By “renew debate” i mean that the only reason it had stalled in the first place was because Obama didn’t want to back it during an election year and now that the little hurdle of being re-elected has been cleared he doesn’t have to hedge his gun grabbing bets any more.

An official at the US mission says all the right things to the press:

“We will not accept any treaty that infringes on the constitutional rights of our citizens to bear arms.”

Now, they can say that but it doesn’t make it true.  The Arms Act as it stands does the following:

“The most recent draft treaty includes export/import controls that would require officials in an importing country to collect information on…

Why I Am a Conservative

“If you’re not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you’re not a conservative at forty you have no brain.” (Attributed variously to Churchill, Clemenceau and others.)

While I was never a liberal, I was certainly less conservative when I was younger. I was originally of the opinion that conservatives were better at creating wealth and progressives were better at distributing it. So my theory was we should alternate between Republican and Democrat governments. So I favored Humphrey over Nixon in 1968 and Ford over Carter in 1976. All that changed after the 1976 election, because I met some genuine movement progressives in 1978, and I have never looked back. I have also not been surprised by anything progressives have done since then.

Do as he says…

…Not as he does.

Several US Navy SEALS were recently disciplined over their involvement with an upcoming video game, Medal of Honor: Warfighter.  At issue is their alleged disclosure of tactics, strategies, and, according to at least one piece I read, equipment.

Now, if it happens to be that it’s true, and that these men were taking payment for consultation, especially if classified material was involved, then it is unquestionably necessary to discipline them (though one has to ask why it was only 7 of the 11 that received the letters of reprimand).  All well and good, and fine so far as it goes…

…so why do we turn a blind eye when the President and/or his administration leak sensitive information, both more often and of a more sensitive nature?  Has everyone forgotten Dr. Shakil Afridi, the doctor who helped US operatives find Bin Laden?  Seriously, folks, I spaced on his name and just googled “Pakistani doctor, bin laden raid,” and there he was!  THAT is the amount of trust our servicemen and allies can place in us?

Isn’t it apparent why, comparatively, I’m less concerned with some SEALS having potentially gossiped about some of the latest and greatest attachments for their M4A1’s?

Come on, MSM, what about Dr. Afridi, what about endangering Israel over the Stuxnet leak?  Nope, not when there’s a video game on the horizon that they could focus on instead…

We’ve got four more years of the worst kind of politicians in office because the media doesn’t want to shine the spotlight where it’s so clearly and desperately needed:  the administration.

Always nice to hear a bit more from Friedman, eh?  Seems he’s always relevant.  Time for #3.

You voted for…

Posted: November 7, 2012 by GeeOhPeeved in Uncategorized

You voted for spitting in the faces of generations of heroes who fought for the  freedoms you take for granted.

You voted for keeping a man in office who, after explicitly acknowledging that he knew it was unconstitutional for him to do so, enacted an immigration policy that is at odds with what Americans want.

You voted for a man who willfully lied about a terrorist attack in order to keep his poll numbers up.

You voted for a man who continued and expanded the worst policies of the previous administration.

You voted for a man who looks down on those who cherish there rights as “clinging to their guns and their religion.”

You voted for a man who knowingly associates with radicals and terrorists.

You voted for a man based on his promise that he would steal from your neighbor, and give part of the loot to you.

You voted for the man responsible for the single largest assault on religious liberty this country has ever seen.

You voted for increased government intrusion in areas where our government has never assumed it had authority before.

You voted for the government takeover of one sixth of the largest economy in the world.

You voted for forcing your neighbor to subsidize your sex life.

You voted for weakness in the face of our enemies.

You voted for the marginalization of the strongest military in the world.

You voted for so much more than my patience allows me to list here, but in the end, you voted for bread and circuses, and to move away from the values that made this country the greatest on earth.

So, you voted for Obama?  Are you a greedy, amoral little cretin, or just a fool?  Take your pick, those are the only real options.

Either way, congratulations!  While I’ve been frustrated in the past, this is the first time I’ve ever been truly ashamed of my country.
